About The Program
Green Economic Growth Programme for Papua Provinces is a collaborative program between the Government of the Republic of Indonesia and the British Government, implemented under the Ministry of Villages, Development of Disadvantaged Areas and Transmigration of the Republic of Indonesia with the United Kingdom Climate Change Unit (UKCCU).

This program aims to ensure that the Papua and West Papua Provincial Governments believe in managing green economic development at the local level, and attract investment towards green businesses through a series of capacity building and mentoring, as well as to increase access to financing for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in rural and urban areas in Papua.
The governments of Papua and West Papua are ready to pursue an alternative low-carbon development path. This is stated in the Provincial Government's Vision 2100 Goals and the 'Blueprint for Sustainable Land Use’ towards an economic model that provides equitable growth, is ecologically sustainable, and improves the welfare of the native Papuan.
The program identifies and supports the portfolio of both the Papuan agribusiness smallholders and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) that will form the basis of a more comprehensive green investment strategy for the two provinces in Papua. The success of smallholders and MSMEs will encourage more green investment in Papua and West Papua.
10 Differences in the Approach of GEGP for Papua and West Papua Provinces
The Papua and West Papua Province GEG Program helps farmers increase the productivity and quality of their commodities or products, through technical assistance, training and appropriate technology / tools.

It prioritizes economic benefits for the
community and household. Socially fair and inclusive - working directly with women and youth.
The aim of the program is to ensure environmental sustainability so that it can contribute to sustainable land management, and not encouraging deforestation.
